If you are like us, you often need of a quick eat that is worth traveling for. Spokane has a selection of food trucks that might surprise you.
You can find a truck that will cater to just about every taste, and when you have a hankering, there is no telling what your stomach will want. With this in mind, we have created a list of our favorite food trucks in Spokane so you are never found starving with the munchies.
Toby’s BBQ
Toby’s BBQ is the winner of various 2018 local awards, including best food truck. One reason behind their success is that they smoke all their meats with the finest apple and cherry wood to really give it an authentic Texas flavor.
Try Tom’s Combo, which consists of two ribs and a pulled pork sandwich with beans or coleslaw. This award-winning BBQ is value for money and we guarantee you’ll be coming back for more.
King of Tacos
These are no ordinary tacos. Pork carnita with avocado lime sauce with Mexican street corn isn’t something you can get your hands on every day, although it should be.
Feast on the King of Tacos royal nachos – choose from carne asada beef, grilled chicken, or pork carnitas and load it onto the refried beans, three cheese blend, onions, cilantro, sour cream, and signature salsa. Another award-winning truck, another reason to sample Spokane’s street food.
The Jamaican Jerk Pan
The smells from this truck and a major draw, enticing you in with its blend of aromas. Jamaican Jerk Pan uses spices imported from the chef’s hometown in Jamaica, so when they say the food is authentic, it is.
Every dish is worth seeking out, and the jerk chicken with rice and peas is particularly popular. If you are lucky enough to catch them on a day when the specials include the likes of spicy honey citrus shrimp skewers or Jamaican style pork, then who could blame you for trying something new.
Crate
Proving that street food can be fast and fresh, everything from Crate is made to order. Some of the mouthwatering options include their famous Thai bowl and the spicy tampa. The latter consists of mojo pulled pork, smoked ham, genoa salami, aged Swiss cheese, dill pickle, banana pepper, and yellow mustard on a roll with slaw.
For the vegetarians out there, they also do a Thai tofu bowl. Thankfully, all their dishes come in generous portions meaning there is plenty of it to satisfy your hunger. Their menu varies depending on location and event, but you can guarantee that you’ll find something you cannot resist.
Skewers Food Truck
Fast food never captures the flavors of the Mediterranean quite like Skewers Food Truck. Grabbing the tastes of Meze on the go is something we can all get behind, and their approach is simple. Select your protein and go from there. How about falafel or chicken shawarma? Want that in a pita with tzatziki or with tabbouleh and tahini?
Skewers was founded in 2009 to fix a crisis – the lack of quality Middle Eastern food in Spokane. We are glad they did, and so will you be when you top off your meal with some gooey baklava.
These food trucks are just a handful of what Spokane has to offer. Whatever you are after, there is a truck for it in town. Still, we’ve given you a great place to start.
